As a little girl I always said I was going to be a teacher. I started that dream when I went to school at UNI and graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. After I graduated, I worked at Hy-Vee to become a Store Director but quickly realized that I was meant to be a teacher and not a business woman!
I earned my first teaching job in August 2007 as a Preschool Teacher at Findley Elementary in Des Moines. In November of that year, my husband and I welcomed our 1st son Tanner. I then went back to school in 2008 to get my Masters of Education from Viterbo University. I graduated the summer of 2009. In September 2011, my husband and I welcomed our 2nd son Austin into our lives.
After 5 years of teaching Preschool, I hung up my Preschool hat and transferred to Madison Elementary to teach Kindergarten. Madison is my home away from home and I enjoy every minute of being here. I love to teach but most of all I love to watch my students be proud of their success!
I graduated from Northern State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education in 2008. I have worked with young children throughout my entire career. I believe in a close relationship with parents because children need to know that there is a whole team of people who care about their well-being and education.
My husband and I have four children, two boys and two girls. In my spare time, I like to read, go shopping, and play with my rambunctious kids!
