I have proudly been a part of the Des Moines Public School District since 1991. I started working with Madison students and families in 2006 as a literacy leader. Go lions! Over the years, I have had the pleasure to also be a K-5 intervention and fourth grade teacher. Currently, I teach second grade and I am excited to partner with you in your child’s education. Your child will help to build a positive classroom community that follows the Madison Mission and together we will watch your child learn and grow both academically and socially.
I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Iowa and my master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Iowa State University. Through Viterbo University I obtained my reading endorsement.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, vacationing in Okoboji, traveling, and shopping!
My name is Mrs. Rodgers! I got married last summer! I am very excited to start off our school year together! I received my education degree from the UNI with endorsements in Reading and Math. One of my favorite things about teaching is getting to watch the students and myself grow over the course of the year. My goal is to help each student find a book that they are interested in reading. When I am not at school, I enjoy hiking, cooking and being with my wife and cat! Let’s make this year wonderful!
