Fantastic First Graders

Two first graders demonstrate what they have learned about directions. They are pointing to their favorite state, Iowa!

The first graders at Madison Elementary School have been learning how to navigate their way around their school and community. They have been identifying maps of their school, city, state, country and the world! These amazing first graders can identify a compass rose and explain what it is and how it helps us read a map. They can also tell you what direction they are going in because they know which way is north, south, east and west. If you ever need directions you may want to ask our first graders!
