What do teachers do on early out days?

On October 25^th teachers had a full workday without students.  The question is “What do those teachers do when kids are not in the building?”  Although it varies between each school, many schools use this as a chance to further their teacher’s skills in different teaching strategies.  At Madison, our grade level teams met to learn about research on the use of assessment to adjust our instruction.  After learning about this research, we put the information into practice by creating formative assessments that can be used to guide our next reading unit.
