Having a Blast at Boogie on the Blacktop

On Friday, September 12th Madison Elementary had its first Parent Teacher Organization event of the year. Due to Iowa’s beautifully unpredictable weather our Annual Boogie on the Blacktop was held in our Gymnasium and the Art and Music rooms. In its first year as a part of the Turnaround Arts initiative Madison decided to have this year’s event focus on the arts. Students, parents, teachers, administrators, community members, and local artists all came together to celebrate our rich and diverse community by creating music, visual art and dance.

Bopping from an art project in the music room to food and beverages in the art room to music and dancing in the gymnasium; Madison Elementary was alive with excitement and hopes for the upcoming year! Teachers and students and all gathered were able to share and participate in Madison’s alive and vibrant culture.
