Kindergarteners Kick Off the School Year!

Kindergartners at Madison have been excited to begin their first few weeks of school! Many participated in the summer Jumpstart program. The Jumpstart program consists of meeting their teacher one on one, allowing Mrs. Stellner, Mrs. Jansen, and Mrs. Lahmann to get to know each student individually. During that initial meeting the teachers were able to do some assessments of the student’s reading and math skills. The second part of Jumpstart is participating in a special morning of kindergarten in early August. Students came on August 11th and were able to experience what kindergarten would be like. This eased the worries of many of the kindergartners as they learned about reading and math stations, group time, and about the layout of the school. Everyone was excited about the new school year.
