Madison Students using Visual Thinking Strategies!

IMG_0655ELL students at Madison have been using visual thinking strategies to support their understanding of background information and reading comprehension. Through the building of background information students are more successful when reading and understanding their text. By allowing students of all reading levels to study a portrait they can practice the reading comprehension and vocabulary skills they need to be develop. Some of the areas to focus on within the portrait are the facial expression of the person or people in the portrait, the focal point of the main character, and the setting.
