Third Graders Learn About Zampona

This January and February third graders at Madison will complete a residency led by a musician from our own community! Michael Nunez, father to a current Madison student and contributor in many local musical groups, will share his musical and cultural experience with our students. We will be learning about the Zampona (Peruvian pan flute) and its place in Peruvian Culture. Students will learn to play several songs on the pan flute, to sing several Peruvian Folk Songs, to perform Peruvian Folk Dances and to top it off they will build their own Zampona which they will get to keep and play for years to come.
