The Jungle Book Coming to Madison!

Madison Elementary is ready to start up our Drama Club after a successful fall session of classes with 40 students. Madison is one of the Turnaround Arts schools in Des Moines and thrilled to have arts integration as part of our daily learning. The focus this session will be learning and rehearsing the musical Disney’s The Jungle Book- Kids. Music teacher, Nels Dovre, and Art teacher, Kathleen Davenport, will be having all students in 4th and 5th grades learning the songs and making costumes, props and set pieces during their school day. Informational letters to all 4th and 5th graders went home February 2 to sign up for the after school classes taught by Madison staff. Teachers include Robin Fulton, Carla Wolfe, Jo Walker, Staci Kuehl, Stephanie Maher and others. Twenty classes start February 12 and continue after school until the performance April 16 at Harding Middle School.
